Combined Hindi translation and typesetting
For complete peace of mind, you may prefer WorldAccent to provide the Hindi translation. This integration allows us to deliver the maximum benefits of our streamlined workflows and cutting edge technology, saving you time and money in the long run.
Problems with legacy Devanagari fonts
We are experienced at dealing with the problems that can arise with the many older, and often incompatible, Devanagari fonts in use for Hindi.
It is our policy to avoid these legacy fonts for typesetting Hindi if at all possible, and stick to Unicode, which is the modern standard. If for some reason you have a requirement for a particular non-Unicode font, you will need to let us know.
If you have some Hindi text that was typed using a legacy font, and that you would like us to typeset, we may be able to transcode it to Unicode for you to save retyping. This will ensure that your Hindi will be typeset to a professional standard, and that the text can be transfered or reused later if needed.
Two points of interest on written Hindi:
- Hindi is written in the Devanagari script, which was originally used to write Sanskrit.
- There is no concept of capital letters within the Devanagari writing system.
